UBC Tennis Centre – Last week the U14 Rogers Canadian Indoor National Championships took place in Vancouver. We would like to thank the City of Vancouver for their financial support of the event. We would also like to thank the UBC Tennis Centre and their staff including, Courtney Davies and JJ Mahony, for their endless work in allowing us to host a great tournament. A big shout out to all the local restaurants that offered discount food to the players especially, Freshii and Pita Pit for providing free lunch to the staff and volunteers.

Thank you to all volunteers that helped run the tournament and make it a great week. A special thank you to Janet Jang and Brenda Chinn who ran the tournament desk everyday and ensured that the tournament went smoothly.

This year we had a great team organizing the event. Thank you to Eric Knoester, who was the Tournament Director for all his endless work in making the event better. We would like to extend our gratitude to Tournament Referee Ute Buffofot and Tournament Chair Daniella Silva, who did a phenomenal job in running a great tournament. As always, thank you to Tennis Canada and Rogers for investing time, money, and effort into making the Junior Nationals an unforgettable experience for all players.

We would like to extend our congratulations to all the players of Team BC for a great tournament. Stewart Aronson went undefeated on the week and captured the boys singles and doubles title. Congratulations Stewart for becoming a double national champion! In the girls doubles, Ella Nielsen and Isabella Asenov also impressed as they made it all the way to the semi-finals. Elijah Kook, Denny Bao, and Isabella Asenov also all came in the top 16 of singles. We would also like to recognize and congratulate Elijah Kook on receiving the Sportsmanship Award!
