Types of Membership

Membership with Tennis BC is a great way to get involved in the Tennis community within BC. Tennis BC is a not-for-profit society that is funded by membership, sponsorship, government grants and programs.

 

Individual Membership Options

Short Summary:

Junior Membership
Allows players under the age of 18 on January first to play in sanctioned and unsanctioned events. This membership allows play in other provinces as well.
Adult Membership
Allows players aged 18 or over on January first to play in sanctioned and unsanctioned events.This membership allows play in other provinces as well.
Recreational Membership
This membership is free of charge. It allows players to participate in any number of unsanctioned events such as club or community tournaments that use Tennis BC’s tournament software to run their event. Players will not be able to enter sanctioned tournaments using a recreational membership.
Note to players from Full Member (Gold) clubs
If you are a member of a “Full Member Club” your club has paid for your membership already. Please join as an Adult or Junior member (according to your age). Then please contact Tennis BC and we will waive the membership fee.

Membership with Tennis BC is a great way to get involved in the Tennis community within BC. By being a member, you have access to play sanctioned tournaments, where ranking points are awarded, and participate in member-club league play, coaching and instructor workshops throughout the province, officiating clinics, and other fun activities! With a full Tennis BC membership, you are also eligible to compete in sanctioned tournaments across the country! Tennis BC League Player License

This membership options gives you a license to play in the league. It is geared towards players who only play in the provincial league and do not play sanctioned tournaments. The primary benefit of this membership option is a substantial cost savings.

2022 Tennis BC Full Membership Fee – Valid one year to-date

Tournament players will need to make sure their Tennis BC full membership is current and active. Tennis BC Full Membership categories include:

  • Juniors (Full): $29.50
  • Adult (Full): $50.50
  • Wheelchair: $22.00

All Members that have already created their Tennis BC accounts can log in and make changes when necessary. Ensure that your membership is up-to-date and does not expire during the league or holiday season.

Follow these steps to update or correct any information on your Tennis BC account.

  1. Click to access the Tennis Canada System.
  2. Click on ‘Login‘ (located at the top right hand corner) to log in with your username and password. Your 8-digit member ID is shown underneath your name.

If your membership end-date is within 60 days, you will see a red renew button click renew and follow the steps.

Instructions for setting up your Tennis BC account

Please note: If you are a member of a Full/Gold Club, please choose the ‘Cash’ option at step 6 and accept. Please send an email to rerb@tennisbc.org with your Full Name, and 8-digit Member ID to have your account activated and membership fee waived.

For those players who have NOT created an online account, please follow these steps:

There are Six Steps to Registration:

  1. PROVINCES:

Select ‘TENNIS BC’ (as your provincial organization – click on the arrow)

  1. RULES AND REGULATION:

Read and accept the user agreement

  1. PROFILE:

Fill in your contact information

  1. MEMBERSHIP:

Select your specific Membership Type

Select your specific BC Region

Select your specific Club (even if you have no club, please select something or you may receive an error – the club can always be adjusted later)

  1. ACCOUNT:

Create your login ID, password, add your email address etc.

  1. PAY MEMBERSHIP:

Members with a Full/Gold Club:

Select ‘Cash’ (and you will be directed to the next page)

Select ‘Accept’ (and your information will be saved.)

Individuals paying for their own Tennis BC Membership:

Select the PayPal option to pay your Tennis BC Membership. You do not need to have a PayPal account;you can still pay by credit card through PayPal.

Once you have completed your payment, an email with an activation link will be sent to you from the Tennis Canada Tournament Software account. Please click this link in order to activate your account.

Log into your account to receive your Tennis BC Member ID.

Club membership renewals are being sent out now.  If your club is not yet a member and would like to join, please send an email to rerb@tennisbc.org for more information and an application form.

**Tennis BC offers significantly discounted Club and Director’s Insurance through Sport BC Insurance providers beginning in April of each year. Insurance renewal will begin in March once Tennis BC Membership renewal is completed. If your club offers racquet sports other than tennis, please let us know when the insurance renewal notice comes out. We may be able to offer coverage of these other racquet sports.

Deadlines for Application & Payments:

Year-Round Clubs

Gold Club Members: EARLY BIRD Discount – Gold and Facility Clubs have the opportunity to receive a 5% discount if membership application and payment is received by January 15th, 2022. Otherwise, member lists must be submitted no later than January 31st, 2022.

Silver Club Members: Member application and payment are due no later than January 31st, 2022.

As not all clubs operate year-round, those clubs that do not operate during the Fall/Winter season may submit their 2022 membership application no later than March 30th, 2022.
