BC Wheelchair

Richmond, BC – The Wheelchair Tennis Instructor Course is a Tennis Canada initiative designed to provide interested individuals (who are currently certified Instructors and Coaches, Recreational Therapists, etc.) with the knowledge to teach wheelchair tennis to introductory players. Participants will learn how to adapt their coaching to systematically develop beginning wheelchair tennis players. Once certified, individuals will be able to teach players the fundamentals of rallying, the importance of the serving and returning, and most importantly, chair mobility. Throughout the course individuals will receive expert instruction from Tennis Canada Course Facilitators, access to sports wheelchairs during workshops, a course manual, and will receive a Course Certificate upon completion.

This one day course will be taught by Tennis Canada National Wheelchair Tennis Coach, and three-time Paralympic Medalist Kai Schrameyer at the Tennis BC Hub on Sunday, April 5th, 2020 (8:30AM-3:00PM). The Wheelchair Tennis Instructor Course costs $49 for TPA Members, and $99 for non-TPA Members.
