Round 2 of the Silex Canada Vancouver Junior ITF Indoor Championships is underway this morning and we’ve decided to highlight some fun facts about some of the players competing in this weeks tournament!
Today’s feature player is Juliet Zhang from Richmond, BC.
What inspires you to train everyday?
“Knowing that the harder I train, the more likely I’ll see better results!”
Who’s your favourite player and why?
“Li Na. It’s encouraging to see players take time off to further their education, career aspirations, etc and then return to play competitive tennis. She’s an inspiration for those to keep pursuing the dream at all ages.”
Guilty pleasures?
“Sweets – all and any sweets!”
Favourite place travelled for tennis?
“Anywhere in Europe, but Paris, specifically!”
What school are you hoping to attend upon graduating high school?
“Rice University in Houston, Texas. The academic programs they have align with my future career goals and the campus looks amazing!” Juliet is hoping to play for the Rice Owls Women’s Tennis team.
Juliet won her first two matches and will be playing in the Girl’s Singles Quarter Finals on Thursday, October 13th! Best of luck Juliet!
