Wednesday’s Results + Thursday‘s Action – Victoria International Junior ITF Tennis
Panorama Recreation Center this week is playing host to its 4th Victoria International Junior ITF World Ranking Event featuring 85 juniors in boys and girls U18 youth tennis action this week.
Thursday is quarterfinal singles play at Panorama Recreation where the final 8 boys and final 8 girls compete for final 4 spots in the singles semifinals. Wednesday saw the field narrowed down with some hard hitting boy’s singles action. Six of the top 8 seeds remain. With number one seed Stefan Palosi of Romania winning 6-4, 6-3 against Jordi Redelijk of Florida. Justin Boulais continued on his winning ways with 6-0, 6-2 win over Canadian John Oxner, setting up an exciting 930 am feature match on the boys side.
Niels Van Noord defeated Theodore McDonald of Seattle in a tough 3 setter. While Alan Cincunegui of Mexico was the three victor over Jovan Sihota of Victoria. Eighth Seed Aaron Diemer of Brentwood bay is through to the 3rd round with 7-6, 6-2 victory over Patrick Sebastian. Kevin Patel of India defeated the sixth seed Lorenzo Guidi of Florida 6-1,6-3. Other seeds advancing include Maksim Bogdanovich and Razvan Baiant.
Singles action starts at 930 am at Panorama Recreation Center in North Saanich with four boys singles matches followed by 4 girl’s quarterfinals. In the afternoon there will be semifinal girls and boys doubles action.
Six seeds remaining in the boys and six Canadians featured the girl’s quarterfinals including Alexandra Vagramov, the U18 Canadian Champion.
