UBC Tennis Centre – The 2017 BC University Regional Championships took place January 20-22 and February 4 at the UBC Tennis Centre. On Day 1, UBC Men took on UVIC Men: UBC prevailed with a score of 6-1. UVIC was able to score their point at the #2 singles position. Day 2 saw SFU take on UVIC on the men’s side, with SFU taking the win 7-0. On Day 3, UBC Women defeated SFU Women with a score of 7-0, which qualified UBC Women for the Western Canadian Championships where they will face the winner of the Prairie Region. The fourth and final day of the BC Championships saw SFU defeat UBC in a close match 4-3, qualifying SFU for the Men’s Western Canadian Regional Championships.

The Western Canadian Regional Championships between the BC Champions and the Prairie Champions is set to take place on March 4th. The Women’s match will take place 1:30 – 5pm at the UBC Tennis Centre on Saturday, March 4th. Meanwhile, the Men’s match location is to be determined (in BC). Be sure to come out and support your local university tennis team. The winning teams of the Western Canadian Championships will travel to the National University Championships, held at the Roger’s Cup later this summer.
