This tournament is sanctioned by Tennis BC.  It is hosted and run by Vernon Tennis Association.

Date: Sunday, Aug 10

Time: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (younger age groups will play earlier in the day, older age groups will play later)

Location: Marshall Field Tennis Courts (6891 Okanagan Landing Road, Vernon, BC)

Events:

  • 8 & Under (Red ball, 1/2 court): Born in 2017-2019
  • U10 (Orange Ball, 3/4 court): Born in 2015-2018
  • U12 (Green Ball, full court): Born in 2013-2016
  • U14 (Regular Ball): born in 2011-2014
  • U16 (Regular Ball): born in 2009-2012

 

Entry Fee: $40.00, payable onsite at the tournament desk by cash, credit, or debit

  • Entry opens: Thursday, July 10 at 8:00 AM
  • Entry closes and withdrawal deadline: Sunday, August 3 at 11:59 PM
    • If you are on the reserve list and no longer available, withdraw by Wednesday at midnight (Withdrawal Policy) 
    • After this deadline, players are expected to be ready and available
  • Acceptance list posted: Monday, August 4
    • Priority will be given to first-time Rookie Tour players
    • Remaining spots filled by random lottery
    • Accepted players will receive an email with payment instruction

 

Important Information:

Support for Parents and Coaches

  • No coaching allowed: Do not visually or verbally communicate with your child during their match to avoid penalties.
  • No outside officiating: Line calls and scoring disputes must be resolved by on-site staff.

Eligibility

  • Priority is given to first-time Rookie Tour participants and those who have only competed in Rookie Tour events.
  • Players with 5 or more Rising Stars events are ineligible for the Rookie Tour.

Membership Requirement

  • Players must have a Tennis BC “recreational” membership (free).

  • After setting up your account, email a piece of photo ID (e.g., passport) to sly@tennisbc.org for age verification
    • Your account will remain pending until your age is verified.
