This is a fun and exciting recreational event designed especially for young players who are newer to competition.
Teams will be formed on court the day of the event, and all matches will count toward each team’s total score. Please note that individual match results will not be posted online, as the emphasis is on teamwork, participation, and having fun!
Events:
- 8U – Red Ball, mini court (born in 2017, 2018, 2019) – 24 players max.
- U10 – Orange ball; 3/4 court (born in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) – 36 players max.
Date: Friday, July 18th
Location: Stanley Park Tennis Courts – 8901 Stanley Park Dr, Vancouver, BC V6G 3E2
Tournament Time: 8:00am-5:00pm (players will be allocated a 1.5 hr time slot)
Additional Info:
- Players should be fully available for the day. If accepted, they’ll be given a 1.5-hour time slot to play.
- This event is weather-dependent. Match times may be postponed, delayed, moved, or cancelled altogether due to weather conditions.
- Specific match time requests cannot be accommodated.
- Players will receive one t-shirt, even if registered for multiple SPO events
Key Dates:
- Entry Opens: Tuesday, June 24th at 8:00 PM
- Entry Closes: Friday, July 11th at 11:59 PM
- Acceptance List Posted: Friday, July 11th – only timeslots will be posted as matches will be determined on court.
- Withdrawal & Payment Deadline: Sunday, July 13th at 11:59 PM (Players on the reserve list as of Sunday night are expected to be available to play)

- Payment is due at time of registration.
- Players on the reserve list or who withdraw before the deadline will receive a refund.

Important Information:
Support for Parents and Coaches
- No coaching allowed: Do not visually or verbally communicate with your child during their match to avoid penalties.
- No outside officiating: Line calls and scoring disputes must be resolved by on-site staff.

- Priority is given to first-time Rookie Tour participants and those who have only competed in Rookie Tour events.
- Players with 5 or more Rising Stars events are ineligible for the Rookie Tour.
- Players must have a Tennis BC “recreational” membership (free).
