Salmon Arm Tennis Club Grand Opening and Third Annual Fundraiser on Saturday June 8, 2019
Salmon Arm, BC – The balls will be flying at the Salmon Arm Tennis Club on June 8, 2019 for the Grand Opening celebration of Salmon Arm’s new 3 court indoor tennis legacy! Daytime activities will be at the Salmon Arm Tennis Club (SATC) grounds and will showcase the club’s new, state of the art, 21,000 square foot indoor tennis facility. In less than a year, the SATC has worked extremely hard combining several thousands of volunteer hours together with extensive help from numerous businesses and contractors in the region to create a truly amazing sporting asset which the community of Salmon Arm and the surrounding area will be able to enjoy for many years to come. SATC would like to thank and acknowledge everyone who has been involved with us in this amazing project at all levels and for the incredible generosity and assistance they have contributed to the project in order to make it a reality! To name but a few of the many and varied types of assistance the SATC has received and are grateful for from our partners during this project: volunteer time, labor, in-kind donations, financial donations, discounts, fundraising efforts, and project coordination. These are all essential in getting this massive undertaking to where it is now.

The SATC is very honored and proud to be able to share some exciting news with the community. Helping us with our Grand Opening of the Indoor Tennis Facility will be a true Canadian tennis legend, Daniel Nestor. Daniel has flown the flag for our nation and represented Canada in tennis for twenty eight years and during his incredible tennis career amassed a total of 12 Grand Slam Doubles titles and an Olympic Gold Medal. The day’s festivities at SATC will be highlighted with Daniel Nestor’s participation in a junior clinic, doubles lesson for lucky players and a Daniel Nestor exhibition doubles match with top local talent. Admission will be free, food and refreshments will be available and we welcome and encourage everyone to come out to enjoy the day’s events and meet a true Canadian tennis legend in the flesh.

The evening of Saturday June 8, 2019 will see celebrations continue at the Prestige Inn with Salmon Arm Tennis Club’s 3rd Annual Fundraiser dinner and silent auction. Generous donations from local businesses and individuals will be available in our silent auction to help raise funds for the new facility. Dinner and local wines will be included. The highlight of the evening will be Daniel Nestor’s attendance at this function. Daniel will tell stories about his illustrious tennis career and be available for pictures and personal introductions. This is indeed a truly unique opportunity for anyone to meet the recently retired national tennis hero as he makes his way across the country thanking Canadians for supporting his 28 year career. Tickets are available for adults and minors for $75 per person and are available at Johnston Meier Insurance located at 140 Alexander Street N.E., Salmon Arm ,BC.
