VANCOUVER, BC – The 2019 BC Senior Provincial Championships Presented by Odlum Brown Limited and Floyd Hill concluded last Friday, June 7th. We were fortunate to have good weather while players enjoyed a fantastic week of competition at the beautiful Jericho Tennis Club. Over the week, 16 players were crowned singles Provincial Champions and 16 teams got the doubles honor.

On Sunday, June 2, players attended a Mexican-themed banquet dinner hosted by Jericho Tennis Club, and courtesy of Odlum Brown Limited and Floyd Hill. At the banquet, multiple door prizes were awarded to the players. The Grand Prize was a day trip for two to Hester Creek Winery in Oliver, BC, which includes a private plane to and from the winery, as well as a complimentary lunch and wine tasting experience. Sinisa Mihaldzic was the lucky winner of this amazing prize courtesy of Floyd Hill and Hester Creek Winery. Additional door prizes included gift cards to Joey Restaurants, courtesy of, Joey Restaurants.
Later in the week, the players also enjoyed a wine tasting hosted by Hester Creek Winery. Players and guests had the opportunity to taste an assortment of wines and enjoyed a great spread of appetizers by the kitchen at Jericho Tennis Club. To conclude the tournament, on Friday evening one last prize was given to players. David Fairbotham was the winner of a two-day trip for two to Bear Mountain Resort including, two nights‘ accommodation, two golf passes, and four tennis passes courtesy of Bear Mountain Resort.
Tennis BC would like to thank Jericho Tennis Club for hosting this fantastic tournament. We would also like to thank the Jericho members for being so accommodating to the tournament and coming out to watch and support the players, as well as for volunteering at the tournament desk. Many thanks to the referees and roving umpires for organizing and keeping the matches on track all week long.
