Panorama Recreation Centre, Vancouver Island – After eight days of tennis action with 85 juniors from around the globe competing in singles and doubles, the  competition comes to an end on Saturday at the Panorama International Junior ITF Tennis Championships.

Saturday will feature the boys and girls singles finals. Click here for draws, results and schedule.

The girls final will be an all Canadian affair with Jessie Gong playing Sophia Ho.  Gong, the second seed defeated Ashleigh Jacobs of Alberta in three sets on Friday, while Ho, the fourth Seed also needed three sets to defeat tournament number one seed Risa Fukutoku of Japan.

In the boys finals, it will be Joshua Lapadat of Canada versus RJ Fresen of New Jersey.

Fresen, the son of former world top 10 woman player Kathy Horvath, won a berth in the finals with a straight sets victory over Raoul Dobai of Vancouver.  While Lapadat defeated Stefan Leustian of Sacramento in the other semifinals.

Friday also saw the girls and boys doubles crowns decided.

In the girls final , Fukutoku and Ho defeated Ashleigh Jacobs and Karin Hamilton of Alberta in two sets.

In the boys action, Leustian and partner Milledge Cossu defeated Toi Kobayashi of Japan and Theodore McDonald of Seattle in two sets.

The Saturday singles finals will start at 930 am with the girls final starting the day. The boys final will go at 11 am.
