Serving up some fun in the sun!
The 2022 Rogers Rookie Tour at Lakeview Heights Tennis Club in Kelowna gave youth players a chance to show their stuff on the weekend of July 9. It was a perfect day for tennis for players, parents and volunteers too.
Rogers Rookie Tour events are part of a national program that gives youth players from U8 to U18 the opportunity to play competitive tennis at an introductory level. U8 to U12 players use progressive tennis balls of different sizes and pressures and racquets, nets and courts modified to suit participants’ ages and sizes to encourage more successful play and to make the game more fun!
These tour events provide a necessary stepping stone for players wishing to compete on the provincial competitive junior circuit in the future. It’s a fun and easy way to learn to play, develop technique and grow a love for the game.
