The last 8 women’s singles main draw entry spots at the $15,000 EncoreFX Women’s International Tennis Championships were determined on Sunday in qualifying action at the Panorama Tennis Centre in North Saanich. Two Canadians, Leena Bennetto and Ana Maria Andrea Illeana along with six Americans will be taking the main draw spots.

Monday starts first round action in both singles and doubles with play starting at 9:30am. Eight singles matches are scheduled with four of the top 8 seeds playing. Second seed Lorraine Guillermo will face Haley Giavara who won Sunday 6-1, 6-2 over Michala Kucharova of Slovakia. Third seed Brynn Boren will face Vivian Toma of Brazil, while number 4 seed Ronit Yurovsky will face Paiton Wagner, University of Oregon women’s tennis player and who was quarterfinalist two years ago at the 2016 EncoreFX tennis Championships.

The final see in action will be Megan McCray of the USA against Gonzaga University’s Sophia Whittle. Later in the afternoon there will also be first round Women’s Doubles action.
