Over 120 players took part in the 6th annual Chad Warren Charity Challenge mixed doubles tournament at the Hollyburn Country Club from September 27th through October 1, 2016. The fun, friendly tournament wrapped up with a players reception and live and silent auctions. The winners in each category were: Charlene Torpy & Spencer Torpy (6.0), Hai-Ying Lin & Michael Han (7.0), Sue Stone and Jonathan Low (8.0), and Khristina Blajkevitch and Alex Korch (9.0).

Chad Warren was an open-level player and high performance coach. In 2009, he died at the age of 34 after battling multiple myeloma for most of his adult life. Chad wanted his life to make a difference for others by raising awareness and money to help find a cure for blood cancers. Now his friends and colleagues organize the tournament to continue to work toward his goal of raising $1 million for the Hematology Research Program at the Vancouver General Hospital. Funds raised at this year’s tournament are expected to top $30,000, bringing the total raised in Chad’s memory to over $780,000. You can find out more at www.chads1million.com.
