Vancouver, BC – On behalf of the sporting community in BC, Sport BC has announced the finalists for the 2017 Athlete of the Year Awards. The awards ceremony will feature three members of our local tennis community as finalists:
Oded Jacob – Male Coach of the Year
Benjamin Sigouin – Male Junior Athlete of the Year
Ken Dahl – Master Athlete of the Year
There are 18 total awards handed out every year at the Sport BC awards. Tennis BC is very excited to have a nominee in three of those categories. The strong representation and significant profile tennis will see at this prestigious awards ceremony is further testament to the growth of tennis in British Columbia. Oded, Benjamin and Ken’s nominations are a community effort. Thank you to the entire community in British Columbia: the clubs, players of all ages and levels, parents, coaches and trainers, volunteers, sponsors, partners, tournament directors and organizers, fans and everyone involved in tennis in BC – without all of your effort, hard work and dedication to the sport we all love, exciting days like today and the growth of tennis in BC would not be possible.
The 51st edition of the Sport BC Annual Athlete of the Year Awards are set to take place on March 8, 2017 at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel where the winners for all 18 categories will be announced. Congratulations to all the nominees across BC sports.
Tennis BC wishes the best of luck to Oded, Benjamin and Ken!
