Girls in Action Wheelchair Event

Surrey, BC – The BC Wheelchair Sports Association visited the Girls in Action program, hosted at the L.A. Matheson School on February 19th. The girls started off the day with a challenging balloon relay, which served as both a phenomenal warmup and a chair mobility exercise. Once comfortable, the girls gave it their best and tried the extremely challenging sport of wheelchair tennis. Tennis BC would like to thank the BC Wheelchair Sports Association, and Provincial Coach Sarah Hunter, for providing the girls with an action-packed day full of fun activities, while also sharing her story of courage, and overcoming adversity with the power of friends and family!

Funding for this year’s Girls in Action program is provided by the fundraising campaign during last summer’s Odlum Brown VanOpen.
