Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Tennis BC has decided to suspend ALL Tennis BC sanctioned tournaments through April 30th.

This includes all the Tennis BC sanctioned events listed on our Tournaments Page until April 30, 2020. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation daily and follow the guidelines set out by the Public Health Agency of Canada. We are prepared to make further changes if deemed necessary and will communicate any changes to our community.

ITF Events
Earlier today, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced that all ITF tournaments will be postponed until June 8, 2020. Read the full ITF announcement here. This directly affects the following events in BC:

U18 Victoria J5 ITF —  May 23-29 (cancelled)
U18 Kamloops J5 ITF —  May 30-June 6 (cancelled)
BC Senior Provincial Championships Presented by Odlum Brown and Floyd Hill — May 30-June 6 (see below)

BC Senior Provincial Championships Presented by Odlum Brown and Floyd Hill
At this time, the BC Senior Provincial Championships Presented by Odlum Brown and Floyd Hill will not take place as an ITF event; however, as this event occurs after Tennis BC’s currently suspended events, we intend on hosting the Senior Provincials as a non-ITF Senior event as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any further changes pertaining to the Senior Provincials.

Entry Fee Refunds
If you paid an entry fee for an event that has now been cancelled, please visit the specific event on our Tournaments Page where you will find refund instructions for that particular event.

Reminders
For those of you choosing to play on outdoor public tennis courts, we would like to remind our community to be mindful of the risk involved in touching shared tennis balls. We also recommend not re-using tennis balls from one session to the next. If you have any symptoms, please refrain from any kind of recreational tennis involving other people.

Many of our member clubs have sent out information outlining their club policies and closures. We would like to remind our community to  respect the guidelines as outlined by your respective club.
