Thank you for your feedback on the 2-Star and 3-Star events this past year. As a result, we are making some adjustments to the acceptance criteria for these junior events in 2020.
Please see below for updated information on the acceptance criteria for the Junior 2-Star and 3-Star Tournaments in 2020. The details of these improvements will be outlined in the tournament regulations at a future date.
Acceptance Criteria for 2-Star and 3-Star Junior Tournaments in 2020:
2-Star Tournaments
- Acceptance is based on a first come, first serve basis.
- Players can play up to two age categories up.
EXCEPTION: players born in 2010 or 2011 will only be eligible to compete in 2-Star U12 events.
3-Star Tournaments
- Players can play up two age categories up.
EXCEPTION: players born in 2010 will be eligible to compete in 3-Star U12 events and players born in 2011 will need Tennis BC approval to play in 3-Star U12 events.
- NEW: Players no longer need to maintain a certain ranking within their primary age category in order to be eligible to play up.
