Entry open: Thursday, March 5th (08:00am) **
Entry close: Thursday, March 12th (11:59p.m.)
Acceptance list posted: Friday, March 13th – ** Priority entry to first time rookie tour players, then entry by Random Lottery. Accepted players will receive an email with payment instructions to confirm their spot in the main draw.
Withdrawal deadline: Sunday, March 15th (11:59 p.m.)
Policy for Late Withdrawal and Failure to Complete Required Tournament Events (Reserve list players must withdraw by Sundaymidnight if no longer available to play. After this, players are expected to be ready and available.)
Important Information:
Support for Parents and Coaches
- No coaching allowed: Do not visually or verbally communicate with your child during their match to avoid penalties.
- No outside officiating: Line calls and scoring disputes must be resolved by on-site staff.
- Priority is given to first-time Rookie Tour participants and those who have only competed in Rookie Tour events.
- Players with 3 or more Rising Stars events are ineligible for the Rookie Tour.
- Players must have a Tennis BC “recreational” membership (free).

- After setting up your account, email a piece of photo ID (e.g., passport) to sly@tennisbc.org for age verification
- Your account will remain pending until your age is verified.
8U RED BALL MATCH FORMAT
– Round robin, 15 mins timed match as many games as possible, 5 mins to swap
– First to 4 points wins a game (e.g., 4-2 or 4-3).
– One player serves for the entire game
– Players switch servers at the start of each new game
Using Scorecards & Cones*:
We usually use visual aids to help players stay on track.
– Scorecards: Players/volunteers/parents will flip the score after each point
– Cones: When a player wins a game, place a cone on their side of the court
– The match continues until time is up, with players accumulating cones to show games won
* Please note that each club may use a different visual aid to help with scoring! Providing parents with info ahead of time to help prepare your kids, but it might be a little different on the day, so be prepared for some flexibility. Please note that if parents are helping, for fairness, you are not allowed to help score your own kids match.
