JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS

For our developing juniors, TEAM really does mean “Together Everyone Achieves More!”

The 2011 – 2012 Miele Junior Team Tennis League celebrates its 6th successful season this year.
This league is open to players aged 9 to 17, and is played on weekend evenings when our Member Clubs have more court time available. Players are grouped into teams with consideration given to friendships, car-pooling, and balanced ages/strengths. A pre-determined schedule allows families to pre-plan their weekends, and a spares’ list offers a solution if the team cannot field the required four players for each match tie.

The top two teams from each division go on to compete in the Miele Provincial Junior Team Tennis Championships, against teams from the Okanagan/Interior and Vancouver Island, April 27 – 29 at Delta Town & Country Tennis Club

2012 Miele Junior Team Challenge

The BNP Paribas Davis Cup was only part of the action at UBC Tennis Centre in February. 13 teams, and close to 90 players, took part in the Miele

Junior Team Challenge - round robin play on the weekend of February 3 - 5, with finals on February 11 and 12. Congratulations to Grant Connell Tennis Centre who came out just ahead of Hollyburn Country Club in the Under 18 Division, and to Elite Tennis Academy who narrowly defeated a team from the Okanagan (with a couple of players from the lower mainland filling out their team.)

Look for our next TEAM Event on the weekend of May 11 - 13th, with play at the Town and Country Tennis Club in Delta. The Mission Tennis Club in Kelowna event has been canceled.
