Meet Chris Catliff of BlueShore Financial

This year’s presenting sponsor of the Miele BC Senior Provincial Championships is BlueShore Financial, a financial institution known for its expert advisors and sophisticated Financial Spas that are located within Metro Vancouver and the Sea to Sky region. Chris Catliff is the President and CEO of BlueShore, and an avid tennis player. We asked him a few questions about his love of the game.

 1. What do you like about tennis?

I really enjoy the sport of tennis because it’s a great work out, and it supports the competitive spirit. I appreciate the dedication of the professionals and volunteers who run tournaments in Metro Vancouver. At BlueShore, giving back to our communities is ingrained, and throughout the year we support a number of local events relating to physical wellness. Being a fan of tennis, I am happy that we are able to be involved with the BC Senior Provincial Championships this year.

2. How often do you play?

I play three times a week with friends. It’s a great way to combine exercise and socializing.

3. Have you played any tournaments?

I won the 4.5 doubles club tourney this year with Mehrdad Elyasi, and have won the mixed in the past with my wife Kym. We both play out of Hollyburn Country Club and the Vancouver Lawn Tennis Club. I also am proud to say that I won the ROSAS tennis league “Player of the Season” at Hollyburn for Top Men’s League Points.

4. What is your favorite shot?

My favourite tennis shot is a one-handed, backhand, topspin down the line that I call “The Wawrinka” (named after Stan). Mine rarely ever goes in, but oh when it does!

Thank you to BlueShore for their support of tennis in British Columbia. We are less than a week away from the kick off of the Miele BC Senior Provincial Championships Presented by BlueShore Financial. For draws, scheduling and more information, click here.
