Followed up with her first appearance in a WTA Tour quarter-final at the Bell Challenge in Quebec City where she defeated Marion Bartoli to earn her first victory over a Top 20 player... Won three consecutive $50,000 ITF Challengers in Saguenay, Kansas City and Troy through the months of September and October.

2009 Season: Marino climbed more than 300 spots up the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Rankings from No. 471 to a career-high No. 158 on October 19, 2009 … She was a finalist at the $25,000 Tenerife Challenger and the $50,000 Boston Challenger … Was a semifinalist on three occasions, including the $25,000 Waterloo Challenger … Reached the second round of a Tour event in Quebec City as a wildcard … Participated in her first Grand Slam qualifying draw, reaching the second round at the US Open …

2008 Season: Rebecca  qualified for her first WTA Tour main draw at the Bell Challenge in Quebec City where she registered her first victory over a Top 100 player by defeating American Jill Craybas (No. 65) in the opening round …Junior: Her Junior career was highlighted by a 15-match winning streak in 2007 that included singles victories at the 25th All Canadian ITF Junior Championships, the Security & General International Junior Championships and the Canadian U18 ITF Junior World Ranking event in Repentigny, and a semifinal appearance at the US Junior International Hard Court Championships…

Personal: Favourite surface is hard… Started playing tennis at age 4… Enjoys swimming, reading, computers and music… Favourite player is Justine Henin because, “She has amazing fight and determination. I really admire that she has such a huge personality on court for a small player.”… Her tennis ambition is to “become top 10 internationally and on the WTA.“...
