Lower Mainland, BC – Spanning three weeks in November and taking place at multiple clubs, play has concluded for the first selection series tournament.
In the boys singles, Anyan Xu won the title with a 6-4 6-2 victory over Scotty Su in the final. Anyan Xu then took home another trophy by winning the doubles title beside his partner, Eric William Wang.
Emma Si Yu Dong won the girls singles defeating Carling Allaye-Chan 6-1 6-1 in the final. Dong then teamed up with Havana Kadi to win the doubles tournament 6-3 6-0 in the final.
Cameron Jim was the boys singles champion as he defeated Ji Seong (Daniel) Kim in the final. In the doubles, first seeds Lawrence Ivanov and Zach Scott took home the trophy.
In the girls singles, Alessia Cau defeated Isabella Asenov 6-2 6-2 to win the tournament. Cau then paired up with Isabelle Zhu to win the doubles 10-5 in a third set super tiebreak over Asenov and Ella Nielsen.
Taking place at Richmond Country Club, Grace Haugen defeated Stefanie Silva 7-5 in the third set to be crowned singles champion. Haugen and Silva then teamed up to win the doubles title against Alessia Cau and Isabelle Zhu.
On the boys side, Aram Noroozian defeated Keita Duclos in two sets to win the boys singles. The boys then went from competitors to partners to take home the doubles title over Jack Davison and Christopher Radloff.
Following up on his success in the under 16 category, Aram Noroozian also won the under 18 singles title. He defeated Jackson Boone 6-4 6-3 in the final. In doubles, Henry Ren and Tyler Radloff defeated Noroozian and Ben Dugmore 10-5 in the super tiebreak.
On the girls side, Alexandra Nielsen won the singles 6-2 6-2 over Stefanie Silva. Silva and Grace Haugen then paired up to take home the doubles title, a week after also wining the under 16 doubles.
