Fernando Fonseca, Brazil, ITF 1704, 16 Fernando has played 4 ITF’s this year, his favourite shot is a forehand angle. His goals include attending a University in the States and then playing as a pro afterwards. He loves watching Roger Federer and is inspired by his strength and talent. In his free time he plays soccer and loves to listen to Resident Funk before he hits the court. His biggest takeaway during this ITF was that he needs to never give up and forget past games, really staying present. He’s really thankful for making it to the ITF Finals.

Nicolas Ocana Lavoie, Born in Mexico (Currently lives in Quebec), Won ITF Boys singles and doubles. This is Nicolas’ first time playing in an ITF (but you would never know it!). He has goals to get a full ride scholarship to a University in the US and play on tour after. In his free time he hangs out with his friends and plays soccer. He gets out of his head before a match by listening to Tee Grizzley plays each point at a time. He’s thankful for his parents support and his coach Francis.

Mireille Moreau, 17, ITF 890, Quebec City. Mireille plays best when she listens to an ultra light beat before a match. She loves hitting her backhand down-the-line. She is getting close to attending university and is working towards receiving a full-scholarship. In her free time, Mireille loves to read and yoga gives her an edge.  The last 2 years of playing in ITF tournaments have taught her that “ Even when you think you are not playing your best, you can always come back from it”.

Rachel Kryzyzak, 14, ITF 2000, Toronto Rachel won the ITF Girls Singles and Doubles. Rachel found success at this years ITF by using her backhand down-the-line shot and pumping herself up by listening to rap! She aspires to get a scholarship to University and at this rate she’s on the right track.  She intensely loves tennis – we’re talking eat, lives and breathes it. She’s a true believer that if you keep fighting anything can happen!
