Is Your Club Pro Fully Certified?

If he/she is, then his/her name will be posted on the list of certified coaches that appears on Tennis Canada’s website. Click here to view an updated list of Coaches in BC. If your pro’s name is not listed there, then the person either does not have current certification and/or is not a current member of the TPA.

In order for an instructor/coach to maintain his/her fully certified status, he/she is required to attend a professional development activity every 2, 3, or 4 years depending on his/her level of certification. This important feature ensures your pro is up to date with regard to teaching methodology.

The Arbutus Club has been one of Vancouver’s landmarks since 1964. With it’s vast range of facilities and programs, coupled with it’s unparalleled service, the club has earned the reputation of being one of Canada’s finest premier private clubs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for maximizing member satisfaction, meeting or exceeding the financial plan, and providing leadership for the Tennis department
  • Assist in the development of operating and capital budgets for the Tennis program, achieving the department’s operational goals through proper forecasting, cost controls and labour management
  • Provide a high level of instruction, co-ordination, program/event planning and administrative support services for the tennis program to support the Club’s strategic goals and objectives
  • Responsible for hiring, orientation, training and supervision of the Club’s Tennis professionals
  • Provide a full range of participation-oriented coaching to members enrolled in the tennis program
  • Assist the Tennis Committee with the planning and hosting of any tournaments or special events
  • Ensure that all Tennis programs, services and events are submitted for inclusion in the Club’s publications at the assigned time
  • Review and approve hourly and salary payroll accurately in Rise payroll management
  • Act in the best interests of the Club and its members while leading the department and delivering services

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • NCCP Coach Level 3 & Club Pro 2 certification or better preferred
  • 4 years’ experience in managing/instructing/directing/coaching and competitive experience required
  • Previous experience working with a range of tennis skill levels
  • Previous experience training and mentoring staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current Police Record Check

The Port Coquitlam Tennis Club is an outdoor seasonal club that runs from April to September. The Club has access to 6 courts at Gates Park and 4 courts at Terry Fox Secondary.

The Port Coquitlam Tennis Club is looking for an enthusiastic Tennis Professional to design, organize, and implement lesson plans to run junior (U8-U12), beginner, and intermediate adult programs within the available Club court times. This position will run from June to September.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Tennis Professional with a minimum Club Pro 1 certification preferred (instructor certification with minimum 2-year experience may be considered)
  • Active and be a valid member of the TPA, with background check and up to date safe sport education
  • Energetic, outgoing, and friendly individual with good communication skills
  • Create a fun and competitive atmosphere
  • Reliable and flexible (to reschedule potential rain-outs)

The Tennis BC Hub @ Richmond features 4 indoor tennis courts. This location offers accessible and inclusive indoor tennis programming for all ages and levels, public indoor court bookings and tournaments.

Tennis BC is looking to create a dynamic team of highly motivated energetic coaches at its new hub facility in Richmond. Tennis Professionals will have a Tennis Canada Certified Club Pro 1 or higher for this position.

Coaches will:

  • Provide high quality instruction to all tennis participants with varying age and ability
  • Assist with preparation of program lesson plans
  • Promote and lead programs/events for individuals and groups on court
  • Ensure safety of players/participants
  • Assist with various administrative tasks with regards to programs
  • Display excellent customer service both on and off court to customer clientele

Responsibilities:

  • Teach, and support player development within the Adult group lessons
  • Teach, and support player development within the Junior group lessons
  • Teach, and lead the club’s Junior (ages 4-16) Summer Program: July 29th – July 17th (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM – 2:00PM)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach with running the club’s Junior (ages 4-16) Summer Program: July 29th – July 17th (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM – 2:00PM)
