Committees

Board Nominating Committee:

Purpose: To aid in identifying new board members.

Budget & Finance Committee:

Purpose: To aid in identifying new board members.

Chairperson - Jan Groome (Treasurer)

Bylaws & Membership Committee:

Purpose: To advise the Board of Directors on amendments to the constitution and bylaws of Tennis BC to ensure current practices are compliant.

Chairperson - Stephen Kimoff (Secretary)

Community & Regional Development Recognition Committee:

Community Purpose: To strategically guide the regional development of Tennis BC programs and services including Building Community Champions, Schools Program, Little Aces (progressive tennis) and maintaining relations with member clubs.

Regional Development Purpose:

Tennis BC’s recognition committee will work to acknowledge individuals who have contributed significantly to the sport of tennis through nominations of outstanding candidates for relevant awards.

Communications & Marketing Committee:

Purpose: To develop a communications policy for the integration of communication systems and tools, resulting in effective communications to Tennis BC members, customers, sponsors and general public.

Competitive Infrastructure & Events & High Performance Committee:

Competitive Infrastructure & Events Purpose: To establish an athlete centred program promoting and supporting all stages of development supported by events.

High Performance Purpose:

The Tennis BC High Performance Advisory Committee will provide input, guidance and strategic planning and policy counsel to Tennis BC staff/Board to assist in the enhancement of junior high performance development in BC to allow our juniors to perform at the high level possible nationally and internationally.

Executive Committee:

Purpose: To aid in identifying new board members.

Facilities Committee:

Purpose: The Tennis BC Facilities Committee has been established to advocate for and support the establishment of indoor tennis facilities in British Columbia. This purpose is consistent with one of Tennis BC’s six Operation Pillars – Stimulate new facilities and foster the development of existing facilities.

Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee:

Purpose: To develop and guide Tennis BC sponsorship program to ensure secure and sufficient funds for Tennis BC programs and events.

Officiating Committee:

Purpose: Maintaining the consistency and competency of officiating in BC.

To promote league and team tennis throughout the province resulting in more adult and junior tennis players and enhanced enjoyment of the game by those that already play.
